According to a recent study posted on Mashable, Pinterest, a brand new social media ‘incomer’, has beat out some major social media sites in terms of traffic.
Pinterest accounted for 3.6% of referral traffic in January which beat out Twitter, YouTube, Reddit, Google+, LinkedIn, and MySpace (no surprise there). Despite beating out a few sites, Facebook still manages to rein with a 26.4% referral of traffic.
As Mashable puts it, Pinterest mostly consists of brides-to-be, fashionistas, and bakers which apparently is a large niche of people if it managed to bring Pinterest to the top.
