Pinteresting!

If you haven’t heard of Pinterest yet then you’re probably living under a rock. It’s the newest social network phenomenon — and you should be taking advantage of it.
As the new kid on the block, Pinterest is quickly gaining ground on other social media platforms. Unique visitors to Pinterest.com increased by 429% from September to December 2011 and it’s user base is over 3.3 million. Pinterest is currently listed as #5 on Hitwise’s list of Top 10 Social Networking Sites, edging out sites such as LinkedIn, Google+ and Myspace. Those statistics are insane! Do you realize how many people you now potentially have reach to?
So what is it, you ask? Check out mine! Pinterest is at its most basic level a virtual cork board where you can pin images that interest you. (Get it? pINTEREST) It also allows users to browse other users’ boards to discover what content they have pinned and to re-pin if it catches their attention. The social network focuses on the concept of individual users’ lifestyles and allows them to portray and share it visually with other users.
Here’s a great graphic by Monetate that may put the awesomeness of Pinterest into perspective for you.
